Police Capture Burglary Suspect After High-Speed Chase and Foot Pursuit
VALLEJO, Calif. – Vallejo police have arrested a suspect involved in a violent smash-and-grab burglary, where multiple individuals used a stolen vehicle to ram into a store’s front entrance, causing severe damage and theft exceeding $9,400 in merchandise.
Brazen Burglary Caught in Progress
On December 16, officers responded to reports of a burglary in progress at a business on the 300 block of Tennessee Street. Witnesses reported multiple vehicles and suspects attempting to break into the store. When they failed to force the doors open, they resorted to crashing a vehicle into the storefront, inflicting extensive structural damage.
Once inside, the suspects vandalized and ransacked the store, looting thousands of dollars worth of merchandise and damaging an ATM. According to the business owner, total losses, including repairs, are estimated to surpass $14,000.
High-Speed Chase Ends in Arrest
With the help of eyewitness reports, officers identified one of the suspect vehicles—a Honda Pilot that had been reported stolen in Oakland.
During an area search, police located the vehicle and attempted a felony traffic stop, but the driver refused to comply. A brief high-speed chase ended when the suspect lost control and crashed into two parked vehicles near Solano Avenue and Tuolumne Street.
Drone Technology Aids in Capture
The suspect abandoned the wrecked vehicle and fled on foot, attempting to hide within the neighborhood. Officers deployed a drone, which quickly located the suspect hiding under a parked car on Perkins Avenue.
Upon arrest, authorities discovered that the suspect already had an active warrant for burglary in Mountain View.
Multiple Charges Filed
The suspect was booked into Solano County Jail on multiple felony charges, including:
Burglary
Possession of a carjacked vehicle
Evading police
Resisting arrest
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities are still searching for additional suspects involved in this coordinated burglary. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Vallejo Police Department.
