A Career in Public Service

Before his time in Congress, Rep. Raúl Grijalva was a dedicated community organizer, championing environmental protection, education, and immigration reform. Later on, he rose to the position of top Democrat on the House Committee on Natural Resources, where he worked on public land legislation and conservation initiatives.

Grijalva promoted the expansion of early education and the forgiveness of student loans in addition to his work on environmental problems. His leadership had a profound effect on Arizona and other states.
